Kate has over two decades of experience in premium domains (sales and acquisitions), brand development, naming, strategy, and storytelling. Her background includes big agencies (Gray and Landor) as well as 20 years experience with premium domains (CCIN/The Castello Brothers).
She is an expert at premium domain consulting and representation, specializing in buying and selling ultra-premium .COMs. Kate has personally brokered millions of dollars in both private and publicly-recorded top domains sales.
Kate brokered a Top 10 domain sale in 2016, three of the world's Top 30 domain sales in 2017, as well as three of the world's Top 25 domain sales in 2018. In 2019, she brokered the 7-figure sale of Chocolate.com. Currently, she has four of the world's Top 30 domain sales (2020 YTD).
She excels at analyzing an organization's critical requirements, understanding both who a brand is now, and who they want to be when they grow up—devising the resources, stories and strategies to bridge that gap. She's a strong communicator who can identify deficiencies and opportunities, and develop innovative, creative and effective solutions for engaging consumers and enhancing competitiveness.
Kate graduated with honors from the University of Kentucky with a BA in Advertising/PR/Communications. She also holds an MFA in Creative Writing, and is a Certified Professional Coach (LCIOC) and Public Speaker (AMA). Also an award-winning poet and writer, she was named the inaugural Poet Laureate of Laguna Beach in 2017. Kate's a strong believer in supporting community. Apart from her involvement in a personal capacity, she ensures that Buckley Media provides pro bono work for worthy causes and donates a considerable portion of the proceeds of each domain sale to charities such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, WaterSchool, and Feeding America.
